Break even in 2003
EPIDAUROS Biotechnologie AG has reached break even in 2003 for the first time since the foundation of the company in 1997.
Bernried, Germany - April 22, 2004 - EPIDAUROS Biotechnologie AG, a pharmacogenetics company located in Bernried near Munich, has reached break even in 2003 for the first time since the foundation of the company in 1997. After a restructuring of the company in November 2002, EPIDAUROS focused its business on pharmacogenetic services and consulting as well as pharmacogenetic research in collaborations with pharma companies and academic institutions. During fiscal year 2003 revenues have been moderately increased which together with a strict cost management contributed to the success of EPIDAUROS. The acceptance of EPIDAUROS’ pharmacogenetic services and increased demand for these services lead to increased repeat business with existing customers and attracted new customers for the company. Currently the EPIDAUROS team is comprised of 26 employees. In the last year a renewal of the company’s certification according to ISO 9001:2000 has been completed and for the first time the company successfully participated in proficiency testing. For the current year it is planned to achieve GLP certification.
Dr. Manfred Zoltobrocki, CEO of EPIDAUROS, anticipates a continued positive development of the pharmacogenetic business of the company and again he expects a positive result for EPIDAUROS in 2004.
